In Uncertain Times

Sorry to say, I am not feeling very hopeful right now; but I / we have to get through this somehow.

In uncertain times -- politically, socially, ecologically, emotionally -- we are all carrying something:  grief, anger, questions, maybe even quiet hope.  I don't know about you, but I carry all of those things.

My prompt for you today is:

What survives?
What do we carry forward?
What burns away, and what do we build from the ashes?
Is there a personal or collective loss that feels hard to name?
What has endured in you despite everything?
What truth needs to be spoken, even if it shakes things up?
What would you say to thr world if it were listening?

Perhaps some of these ideas will spark your imagination:

A candle that doesn't go out.
This is what we still have.
Hope isn't gone. It's scorched.

If none of the suggested ideas appeal to you, never mind!  Just write a poem about "In Uncertain Times."

Link your poem with Mr. Linky below, and be sure to visit the links of others who post!  The prompt will close next Sunday at 8 p.m. Eastern.

  11. Everyone, be sure to listen to the entirety of Nick's (Intelliblog) song, as the poem he shared is just the FIRST part of the song that is sung! It becomes even more powerful (my opinion only) as it goes on!
