April Love by Arthur Hughes |
“Oh to be in England now that April’s there.” – Robert Browning
The
month begins with the April Fool’s Day and we’re reminded of Horace who once
said, it’s good to be silly at the right moment.
How
is the month of April around you? Is it Spring month or a Fall month? Whatever
you see whether it’s April’s sleepy eyes or dancing feet, let us know.
How
does your world look like, smell like, sound like in the month of April?
Paul
Allen said, “I was only in second
grade when the Russian Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first man in space.
The night of his launch - April 12, 1961 - I went out onto the front porch and
stared up at the stars, trying to see his capsule passing overhead. Like
millions of others, I was enthralled by the idea of space exploration and have
been ever since.” Do you have any memory that makes April so special to you?
To Eliot (The Waste Land) “April is the
cruellest month”. We find “a heap of broken images” showing the emptiness of a
world without meaning and spiritual belief. Is 2024 April somewhat similar; a
‘stony rubbish’? Is it about brokenness and loss only? What do you feel about
2024 April?
In our part of the world election fever is high
this April. Everyone waits for a beginning again.
