My granddog Chloe enjoying a pupcake
on her birthday. Something to make us smile.
on her birthday. Something to make us smile.
Friends, there is a lot going on in the world right now, and many of us are feeling weighed down with all that is happening.
We thought this week it might be nice to offer an open link. Please share with us one of your favourite poems from the past. If you wish, you might tell us a little bit about the poem, how it came to be, and why it is one of your favourites.
Link up, leave us a comment, and visit our fellow linkers. We are looking forward to your poems.
Thank you for hosting Sherry - something new form me but looking back also - Jae
ReplyDeleteI am looking forward to reading it, Jae.
DeleteGood morning, friends. I am away from home this week and will make the rounds as I am able. Looking forward to your poems.
ReplyDeleteI posted an old one, written in 2016 connected to my personal journey. Now looking forward to reading others' poems.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful poem, Sumana.
DeleteMine is new...hope that's ok.
ReplyDeleteOf course! Thanks for linking.
DeleteOh my goodness, Sherry! Chloe is such a cutie and her mother gets extra bonus points for going the extra mile with that mouth-watering birthday treat! I don't think it's possible for her eyes or her mother's smile to get any bigger. 😊 I posted a poem first written ten years back, then revised years later and I thought I'd brush the dust off for open link.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter and I are both extreme dog lovers. The pupcake has ingredients healthy for dogs. Smiles.
DeleteWhat a beautiful pup! How lucky she is to have a celebration for her birthday!! I have never done that for my pups!
ReplyDeleteSteph lives for her dogs. Smiles.
DeleteChloe's eyes are filled with joy and bliss- happiness raw and pure! What better way to return to blogging and poetry than to join your prompt , Sherry. I am looking forward to doing as much prompts as I can to get back into the grind. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of open link every now and then. I hope it becomes a regular feature. Mine is from 2022. ...I like the bogey hole where I used to swim as a child
ReplyDeleteIt felt like we needed a break this week.
DeleteI too like the idea of doing Open Link now and again. Thank you, Sherry, for facilitating it. I have commented on everyone's poems. Such a variety. Hope that everyone who posts will visit other poets as well. We all need 'support' in these difficult days.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary. Am trying to catch up.
DeleteA message for the American poets at this sad time. There are so many of us who share your feeling of devastation at what has happened to your nation. Know that you are not alone and you are in our thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rall. I fear the election will have repercussions world round. Prayers and thoughts and actions welcome.
DeleteWe in Canada are outraged and appalled too. So much injustice. The world will be impacted and the years ahead will be hard. Somehow we have to hold onto our light through dark times.
DeleteThat is such a cute picture!
ReplyDeleteMy youngest, with her beloved pug.
DeleteI just loved the poems shared this week. I think we all needed this kind of 'soothing' that an open link provides. Thanks, Sherry, for enabling it. I also like it that people were so responsive to other people's links -- a real sense of community! During this difficult week, you all made me appreciate what we are here even more!
ReplyDeleteYes, we will keep on sharing and being who we are, no matter how grim the bigger picture is. We all still need beauty, poetry and connection with good hearted people.
